Our Fast Response Protects Your Property

You shouldn’t have to wait forever for help when you need it. Fire damage is urgent because its damage can continue to grow long after the fire is extinguished. The chemicals in soot and smoke further break down your possessions and the building materials. The water damage left behind from putting the fire out runs the risk of developing mold.

We know how important it is for you to get help quickly. Our team is ready 24/7 to respond to emergency calls. We also prioritize efficiency throughout the cleanup process so that your space can be restored quicker. Call to get started now.

Be Prepared With Our Emergency Response Agreement

Alleviate the stress of future fire damage emergencies by planning ahead with Duraclean’s Emergency Response Agreement (ERA). With our ERA, you can:

  • Establish a qualified restoration contractor who will prioritize your needs
  • Get advance knowledge of pricing and procedures for emergency response
  • Learn more about Duraclean’s qualifications as emergency damage responders

Tips for the Immediate Aftermath of a Fire

Once you have called Duraclean for help, here are some tips for what you can do while we are on our way over.

What to do:

  • Call your insurance agent/company and tell them Duraclean is on the way.
  • Collect valuables like money, jewelry, and weapons, and put them in one spot.
  • If the temperature is above 60 degrees, air out the house to reduce the smoke odor.
  • If the electricity is off, clean out the refrigerator and leave doors propped open. Discard any open food packages.

What NOT to do:

  • Do not touch anything with your bare hands. Oil from your hands can cause additional damage.
  • Do not wash the walls. Improper cleaning could streak or spread the soot residue.
  • Do not attempt to clean carpets or upholstered furniture.
  • Do not use electrical appliances until they have been checked.
  • Do not use ceiling fixtures if the ceiling is wet.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that property owners might want to start the restoration process, but it’s best to wait for the restoration technicians to arrive. It’s easy to make the damage worse accidentally. Incorrect cleaning methods can cause the residue to smear and seep further into the affected material. Experts like Duraclean have the proper equipment, products, and training to restore your building materials and items safely.

This depends on the extent of the damage, the size of the building, and the inspections the building needs to pass. We can give you a personalized time estimate at the beginning of the fire damage restoration process.

Whether or not you will need to move out or relocate during the restoration process depends on the extent of the damage. If the structure is not stable or you are left without running water or electricity, you should relocate temporarily.

For smaller fires that affect a single area of the building, small factors like noise disruption and the smoke smell will be present during the restoration process. It’s your choice. We are always happy to advise in any way that we can.

Any items with personal or high monetary value should be kept with you at all times, such as:

  • Family valuables, coins, and artwork
  • Personal documents
  • Checkbooks, cash, and credit cards
  • Medication

In most cases, the contents will be restored on-site. If damage is severe, we will perform inventory, pack, and deliver your personal property to our climate-controlled facility for proper restoration.

If any high-value items require specialized restoration, we will contact the help of local specialists that are part of our preferred vendor list.

Yes! You will always have access to your stored items, especially important documents and clothing. We just ask that you call ahead of time and schedule a time that works best for you. An additional charge may be applied to access the items.

It can be difficult to remember all your items that were damaged, but general information including the quantity, year purchased, and price will be sufficient information to have the insurance claim cover the cost. In many cases, we are more than happy to assist in making non-restorable item lists by using our picture inventory process and printed lists.

Furnaces and air conditioning systems should not be turned on until they have been inspected by one of our technicians. Even if you don’t think it was affected by the fire, turning it on can lead to spreading soot particles throughout the property. It’s better to be safe than sorry and wait for inspection.
